The Vitality London 10,000 starts and finishes in St. James’s Park. Runners will pass some of London’s most iconic landmarks including Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament & Westminster Abbey. Bill Dhariwal will be running this race on behalf of CRY in memory of his niece Natasha. CRY works to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and provides support to affected families. The family would like to raise money to support a public community screening in Natasha's memory. Systematic screening programmes are needed to establish the prevalence of cardiac conditions in the young. The aim of a screening programme is to detect an underlying cardiac condition. In 80% of cases of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) there are no prior symptoms of a heart defect. The frequency of YSCD can be dramatically reduced by making heart screening available to all young people between the ages of 14 and 35.
